Kerr sets record, Matildas win again
Football Federation Australia
Westfield Matildas star Sam Kerr was on the scoresheet in Australia’s thrilling Algarve Cup win over Norway, setting a new national team record in the process.
The attacker scored her side’s third goal in a last gasp 4-3 victory, the seventh consecutive international in which she has found the back of the net.
Lisa De Vanna played Kerr through on goal with a delightful through-ball before the Perth Glory striker calmly slotted the ball past the Norwegian keeper.
Kerr’s achievement eclipses the previous record help by Matildas legend Sarah Walsh (six).
