Stirling Lions will host a charity match against South West Phoenix this Saturday to raise funds for brain cancer research.
The inspiration behind the Under 18s match is Busselton teenager Baxter Hutchinson, who had surgery last Spetember after being diagnosed with the disease.
Talented Phoenix player Baxter, who turns 18 in March, had one of two malignant brain turmours removed.
Yet just two months later he was taking part in the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation’s Walk4BrainCancer Perth charity walk – even gaining the dollar-for-dollar backing of WA billionaire mining magnate and philanthropist Andrew Forrest.
Incredibly Baxter helped raise more than $460,000.
A few weeks ago we introduced you to Baxter Hutchinson, an Aussie teen battling brain cancer.
With your help he has raised close to $500,000!
For our final Sunrise Secret Santa, Baxter wanted to share the love with the other kids at Perth Children’s hospital… ❤️ pic.twitter.com/FtdMNuPFEr
