Clubs Onside with Belt up. ball initiative

Football West News

Amateur clubs across WA will have a ball this weekend … well, make that 20!

Football West and the Insurance Commission of Western Australia have teamed up to present clubs from around the State with a set of footballs branded with the Belt up. road safety message.

Representatives from around 50 metro clubs will head to Onside Sports’ two stores, in Malaga and Canning Vale, on Saturday to collect their Belt up. balls at the official launch.

Onside Sports proprietor Caesar Aquino said: “We’re gearing up for an even busier day than normal and it’s great to get behind such an initiative.

“Everyone wins with this – the clubs get 20 quality footballs while at the same time an important road safety message is shared.”

Football West CEO James Curtis said: “It’s great to team up with Caesar and Onside Sports.

“We are also proud of this partnership with the Insurance Commission of Western Australia and delighted to do our part in promoting road safety in this way.”

The Insurance Commission of Western Australia has naming rights to the following Men’s Sunday competitions:

  • Belt up. Men’s Amateur League

  • Belt up. Men’s Amateur Cup

  • Belt up. Men’s Amateur Reserves League

  • Belt up. Men’s Amateur Reserves Cup

  • Belt up. Men’s Masters League

  • Belt up. Men’s Masters Cup

  • Belt up. Men’s Metroplitan League

  • Belt up. Men’s Metroplitan Cup

The Men’s State Cup is now the Belt up. Cup, while a number of competitions now have Belt up. rounds, including the National Premier Leagues WA and the Women’s State League.

Belt up. is a road safety awareness campaign to promote wearing seatbelts on WA roads to reduce the severity of injury in a crash.

The message is simple. Wear a seatbelt. Belt up! We don’t want you to become another statistic on our roads.
