Female Football Week is a national celebration of the role of women and girls in the game. Throughout the week, which runs from March 8 to 19, Football West is involved in a range of activities across Perth dedicated to developing female football in Australia.
More than 20 per cent of Football Federation Australia’s entire participation base of outdoor club players are female, which represents how quickly the sport is growing.
Female Football Week highlights record female grassroots registration levels and a commitment by the FFA and all member federations to continue promoting gender equality in football.
As part of Female Football Week, Football West is running a number of events including a Female Football Week Forum, a Bankwest Girls Day Out and a Girls NTC Open Training Session. A number of clubs will also host ‘Bring a Friend’ days which encourage junior girls to bring friends to their clubs to meet W-League players.
