Football West is delighted to announce it will host a delegation from the Shanghai FA next week.

The visiting party will be in WA from Tuesday to Saturday.

Football West and the Shanghai FA signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding last year to deliver improved player, coach and referee exchange programs between the two bodies.

The Chinese group will take in the Perth Glory-Adelaide United A-League match next Wednesday night, an NPL Night Series fixture on Friday. They will also enjoy tours of Optus Stadium and HBF Park (formerly nib Stadium).

There will also be a number of programs and presentations, including skill development, skills acquisition, women’s football, ALDI MiniRoos and community coaching.

Football West Chief Operating Officer Greg Blycha said: “Hosting the Shanghai Football Association provides an opportunity to showcase grassroots football in WA, deliver on our objectives under our MoU to improve player, coaching and referee programs, and to build relations with our counterparts in Asia.”
