Following over 2,000 survey responses, over 90 submissions and more than 10 feedback workshops, Football West has developed a new Strategic Plan and Female Football Plan for 2018-2022.
The Strategic Plan and Female Football Plan will set the direction for football in WA over the next five years.
Across both plans, our mission is to support your football journey by making the game accessible and a great experience for all. We will do this through our values of mutual respect, fair play and excellence.
Football West will further develop the game by empowering clubs, improving facilities and establishing a blueprint for growth. We will do this through outstanding service delivery, underpinned by a values-led culture, strong partnerships and the capacity to deliver.
Immediate priorities under the Strategic Plan will include providing a suite of guidance materials for clubs and developing a regional service model.
The Female Football Plan was developed alongside the Strategic Plan and is a national first for a football Member Federation. It will provide guidance for the whole of female football over the next five years, ensuring that the game remains accessible and a great experience for all.
Priorities under the Female Football Plan will include embedding the importance of female football throughout all aspects of the game, developing frameworks to support the growth of female football and establishing targeted initiatives for female coaches, players and referees.
Initiatives which have been launched under the Plan include:
- Free registration and upgrade courses for female referees
- Female-only C Licence course
- Female Coach Mentoring Program
Over the next five years, Football West will work towards promoting clearer pathways and building the capacity of the women’s game.
If you would like to learn more about the Strategic Plan or Female Football Plan, Football West will be holding information sessions to discuss the plans and their development in more detail.
Football West has been engaging with Standing Committees and Zone Representatives in recent weeks to discuss implementation of the Plans.
