WA’s first girls-only ALDI MiniRoos Kick-Off program for 2017 began at Perth Soccer Club on Sunday, April 30.
Girls aged four to nine are invited to take part in the eight-week program, which encourages sport in a fun, safe and friendly environment.
Players from the Perth Glory Women attended the session as part of the Club Ambassador Program, which links players in local clubs with WA-based Westfield W-League players with the aim of encouraging junior girls to stay in the game.
The program will take place every Sunday from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, with players asked to wear suitable clothing and shinpads, and bring water bottles.
The program involves sessions that build skills through games and simple drills delivered in an engaging and inclusive environment.
Each player gets plenty of time on the ball and the prime aim of each session is for children to build fundamental motor skills.
Every child also receives an ALDI MiniRoos Participant Pack when they register, including a bag, ball, lunch box and water bottle.
ALDI MiniRoos Kick-Off is the only national program that is run through Football Federation Australia (FFA).
