Gold Fields U15 team sign off with win

Football West News

The Gold Fields Under 15 State Team had their final run-out before their trip to China when they took on a Forrestfield United Under 16-18 Combined side.

The State side, who head off to play in the Jinshan International Youth Football Championship next week, won 4-1 at Hartfield Park.

Head coach Garry Church said: “The boys started off well with a goal inside 10 minutes. As in our previous games, the boys were consistent especially in the areas we have been working on, and it’s great to see them improve in every game.

“Forrestfield started to challenge us in areas that we have not worked on, but after a quick change of tactics during the break we started to get back on top. This was a great game to finish on with a solid performance from all the players.

“We would like to take this opportunity thank Forrestfield for hosting the game and their hospitality inviting the players and parents into the club house for a meal. We would also like to thank all other clubs and teams that have been part of our preparation.”

The Gold Fields WA Team will play against the India National Youth Team on August 25, China on August 26 and Czech outfit Slavia Prague on August 28.

The other sides involved in the Jinshan Tournament are AJ Auxerre from France, Belgian side Standard Liege, Sanfrecce Hiroshima from Japan and a second China team.
