The 2018 edition of the Ballon d’Or is the first in the award’s 62-year history that will recognise female footballers.

The ceremony to announce the winner will take place in Paris on 3 December.

Kerr has had an outstanding 2018, helping the Chicago Red Stars reach the playoffs after finishing top of the NWSL Golden Boot standings.

The Perth Glory attacker also scored crucial goals for the Westfield Matildas at the AFC Asian Cup and Tournament of Nations.
