Wanneroo City got the ball rolling earlier this year, Quinns FC followed and now Walking Football has gone south of the river.

Mandurah City secretary Diane Eldridge said: “There’s no running but you’re stopping, starting, you’re changing direction, turning, moving and placing your weight.

“This helps prevent chronic illness, injuries and  the social side is proving excellent for your mental health. Walking Football players have just as much appetite to play as the kids do.

“They are teams full of characters looking for some exercise and social fun in their retirement.

“You can now play from age 5-95  here at your home club.”

Anyone interested should email Diane at secretary@mandurahcityfc.com.au or just turn up.

Following the event the Mandurah Masters team has a game against Shoalwater FC from 7pm.
