Football West Chairman Liam Twigger was re-elected to the Board during last night’s Annual General Meeting held at Edith Cowan University’s Mt Lawley campus.
During a General Meeting held before the AGM, Company Members endorsed a change to the constitution to address conflicting elements, which allowed Mr Twigger to stand for a third term and he was subsequently re-elected.
Long-serving Board Member Rob Mackay and Melville City President Dave Kindness were inducted as Football West Life Members.
Mr Mackay served as a Football West Director from 2007 to January this year, and Mr Kindness has been involved in football for 18 years, including five terms as Melville City president.
The AGM marked the end of Director Janette Spencer’s eight years as a Board Member.
William Golsby and Andrea Hoskins were elected as new Board Members of Football West.
William has broad experience in sports administration, corporate governance, business, strategic and financial planning, media and marketing and government relations which have been gained in various parts of Australia.
His current role is General Manager Corporate Affairs at RAC where he is responsible for Group media, internal communications, external and government relations, the delivery and marketing of advocacy campaigns, sponsorship and community education programs.
Before joining RAC, William was Chief of Staff for the Victorian Minister for Sport and Recreation and Veterans’ Affairs, during which time he provided high level strategic policy, media and political advice to the Minister. This role also included the co-ordination and delivery of funding to community sport and recreation across Victoria including developing and the delivery of numerous sporting programmes.
William has experience as a Director through his previous appointment to the board of the Australian Crop Accreditation System and has a Graduate Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Andrea has an extensive corporate background in the areas of strategic and business planning, marketing, risk management, operational and general management experience across a wide range of industries including resources, agriculture, health care, retail and financial services. Andrea has gained this experience in the diverse markets of Australia, UK, Africa and South East Asia.
Andrea is currently employed by HBF where she is working for the Managing Director and has responsibility for corporate strategy, business planning and the delivery of complex strategic projects. She was previously charged with the management of the Friendlies Pharmacy Franchise following its acquisition by HBF in 2013. Andrea assisted in developing the franchise’s new business model and marketing plans, rebranding and introducing new governance structures and operating models.
Prior to her employment at HBF, Andrea was a strategy consultant for 4½ years operating internationally and as a Marketing Manager in London.
Andrea has an affinity to both elite and grassroots sport having played touch football and Gaelic football at state level and netball at community level.
William and Andrea join Anna Liscia, Liam Twigger, Henry Atturo, Sherif Andrawes, Lui Giuliani and Jason Petkovic as Board Members.
