Girls Festival of Community Soccer a big success

Football West was delighted to support the Girls Festival of Community Soccer at Fremantle Oval on the weekend.

With over 40 teams and 500 players, the day was a huge success as it attracted plenty of supporters, families and friends.

Football West got the opportunity to present clubs with their Football Australia Club Changer 1-Star Award Certificate.

Another highlight was WA's Matildas legend Lisa De Vanna presenting a trophy named in her honour.

Football West Manager - Female Football and Advocacy Sarah Du Plessis said: "It was great to be involved in the Girls Festival of Community Soccer and it was terrific to see the smiles and talent on display. The day showed how much the female game is thriving in Western Australia.

"Congratulations to the clubs who received their Club Changer 1-Star Award Certificate.

"And well done to the organisers, coaches, referees, key stakeholders and sponsors who helped make the event such a success."

Clubs who received their 1-Star Award Certificate at the festival included Subiaco AFC, Mandurah City FC, Baldivis Districts FC, Fremantle City FC, UWA Nedlands FC and Aubin Grove United FC.
