Tight at the top in Hyundai Women's League

One point separates the top four teams three rounds into the Hyundai Women’s League Division One season.

Fremantle City and Subiaco have seven points, while Mandurah City and UWA Nedlands sit on six.

Freo were on form against Murdoch University Melville at Wauhop Park, running out 5-0 winners.

At Len Packham Park, Subiaco wasted no time in making their mark against Perth AFC with Amy Buchanan scoring her fifth goal of the campaign inside two minutes. Anna-Lena Dymowski extended the lead before half-time and the scoreline stayed at 2-0.

Hamersley Rovers picked up their first points of the season with a 1-0 win at Sorrento FC, the league’s 2023 Player of the Year Christiane Astorp coming off the bench to score the only goal.

And it was a similar story for UWA Nedlands, Karina Orth giving Oriol Fernandez’s side a 1-0 victory away to Mandurah City.
