Football West is working towards the commencement of Walking Football in Western Australia.
This exciting new form of the game will increase inclusion and participation levels, recruit people seeking a social and active lifestyle, retain players considering hanging up their boots and add to health and wellbeing of the community.
Expressions of interest are welcomed from individuals and clubs; if you are keen to take the first step email to firstname.lastname@example.org with name and suburb, and we will keep you updated on events and progress.
In coming months, workshops will be held around Perth for clubs and players to trial the game and have their say in the direction.
Further updates will be posted here.
Please note: while the game is played at a slower pace and minimises physical contact and brings positive health benefits for most, we urge people considering participating with serious health issues or previous injuries to consult their physician to seek medical clearance before playing.
‘Walkshops’ announced: Free of charge; all are welcome to attend, participate, join the discussion and enjoy an evening with a difference! Wear comfortable sporty shoes and clothes.
