All Flags State League Division One clubs Forrestfield United and South West Phoenix could be promoted to the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues WA following an independent club audit that confirmed their compliance against eligibility criteria.
Should the senior first teams of either club occupy first position on the State League Division One table after the final round of matches scheduled for Saturday, September 16, the club will be promoted into the PS4 NPLWA.
As per Article 15.2 of the NPLWA Competition Rules, the club finishing in last place on the NPLWA table after the final round of NPLWA matches on Saturday, August 26, will occupy a relegation position.
In the event that neither Forrestfield nor South West Phoenix occupy first place in State League Division One, but either team finishes second, third or fourth, a two-leg play-off will be conducted between the highest-placed of these teams and the bottom team in the NPLWA. The Promotion and Relegation Play-Off process is described in Article 16 of the NPLWA Competition Rules and Article 4 of the State League Competition Rules.
If required, the venue and kick-off times for the two play-off matches will be finalised at the conclusion of both the NPLWA and State League Division One competitions, with the play-off matches to be held on Wednesday, September 20, and Saturday, September 23, subject to ground availability.
Separate to the issue of promotion and relegation outlined above, Football West is assessing the NPLWA Review Report, which was prepared by independent consultants after extensive community consultation. Subsequent stakeholder feedback will be considered before publication of the report and Football West’s responses.
