Football West News

The Football West Smarter Than Smoking Girls Skill Acquisition Program provides young players with weekly opportunities to attend training sessions conducted by Football Federation Australia-accredited coaches.

For just $75 per school term, players born in 2005 to 2008 will develop core skills in fun and engaging training sessions designed according to FFA’s National Football Curriculum.

The cost of registration includes all sessions in the school term plus a Nike Football West SAP training kit consisting of shirt, shorts and socks.

The Skill Acquisition Program is designed to assist players aged between 10 and 13 to accelerate skill development.

It aims to provide players with the technical tools to be able to play the game at the highest possible level by focusing on the four functional game skills:

• Striking the ball

• First touch

• One-v-one

• Running with the ball

Sessions will be held each Saturday morning at Celebration Park in Balga and Aubin Grove Reserve in Aubin Grove.

Players born in 2007 and 2008 are invited to attend the sessions from 9am to 10.15am, while sessions will be held for players born in 2005 and 2006 from 10.30am to 11.45am.
