Wembley Downs put on a dominant performance to defeat Ellenbrook United 6-0 on Sunday in the Amateur Premier League.
A brace to young Wembley striker Dean Wall and goals to Anthony Jones, Stephen Geoghegan and Felipe Simeos left Wembley coach Colm Costello delighted at his side’s performance.
“We dominated all day,” he said.
“It was probably our best performance of the season. The lads were quality today, we stepped up, there were no nerves and we did the job.”
Wembley dominated from the outset with the majority of the chances in the first half including a long range strike within six minutes which rattled off the crossbar.
Despite the early dominance it took until the 31st minute for Wall to break the deadlock after he got in the end of neat cross from the left to head home for the opener.
Ten minutes later, Anthony Jones doubled the advantage as he towered over the pack to head home from a corner kick.
Wembley kept pushing towards the later stages of the first half and were rewarded with an own goal and also a superb free-kick by Geoghegan which found the bottom corner from distance.
A less frantic opening to the second half saw Ellenbrook come into the match, including a disallowed goal for an offside.
Wembley substitute Simeos found himself with space in the box and finished brilliantly to make it 5-0 for the visitors in the 81st minute.
Wall completed his brace deep into the match as he got on the end of a ball, rounded the advancing keeper and, with some luck, managed to dribble into the net.
The 6-0 result sees Wembley stay at the peak of the WA Amateur Premier division with two matches remaining.
