Team mates praise Kerr work ethic

Football West News

Westfield Matildas defender Clare Polkinghorne has praised WA star Sam Kerr’s work ethic ahead of Monday’s historic international friendly against Thailand at nib Stadium.

Polkinghorne, who made her Matildas debut in 2006, said Kerr’s success was no secret.

“It’s not a fluke that she’s successful come game day because she works extremely hard,” Polkinghorne said. “She’s a massive part of our team and I’m glad she’s on our side.”

The Matildas will play in Perth for the first time when they take on Thailand ahead of the Asian Cup in Jordan next month.

“We’re all excited to be here in Perth and it’s extra special for Sam to play at home,” Polkinghorne said.
