WA State Teams prepare for Futsal National Championships

Football West News

Five Football West State representative teams will travel to Canberra in January to participate in the 37th Football Federation Australia Futsal National Championships.

Two Under 12 teams will join the Under 13, Under 14 and Under 15 squads as they compete against states and regions from around Australia from January 8 to 12.

Squads were selected after a five-week trial process and have been training for the past 14 weeks.

Football West Development Officer Garry Church will travel with the squads as a team Manager, joined by Clive Workum and Football West National Premier Leagues Operations Coordinator Ben Fraser.

“It’s a great achievement for each of these players to be selected to represent their state at the Championships and to raise the profile of Futsal in Australia,” Church said.

“I am confident the players travelling will benefit from the experience of competing on a national stage and against a high standard of opposition.”

Sean D’Arcy will coach the U12 Black Swans, while Victor Brauner will take on the U12 Gold Swans.

Salv Todaro will lead the U13s, Dan Evans will take the U14s and Alex Herrera will coach the U15s.
