Morley-Windmills sealed their place in the All Flags State League Division One Play-Off Final after defeating Wanneroo City 4-0 on Tuesday night in the second leg of their play-off match.
The win for Morley sealed a 5-0 result on aggregate after beating Wanneroo 1-0 in the first leg.
Morley striker Ben Wantee ran the Wanneroo defence ragged scoring a hat-trick in an outstanding performance by his side.
The Morley front-man continued his goal scoring form, adding to his match-winning goal from the first leg.
Morley head coach John Castrilli was delighted to be going into the final.
“We dominated the match. We didn’t put a foot wrong tonight,” he said.
“I can’t fault a single one of the boys.
“Next week we’ll focus on playing the way we did tonight and hopefully go again.”
Wantee needed only five minutes to give Morley an early lead and a crucial away goal.
Morley doubled their lead in the 33rd minute after Ryan Treacey’s long-range free kick was parried by Wanneroo keeper Joey Smith into the path of Morley’s Boas Mtwale for an easy tap in.
Morley scored early in the second half as Wantee’s speed was too much for the Wanneroo backline – breaking down the right wing before curling his shot around the keeper in the 50th minute.
Wantee sealed his hat-trick in the 73rd minute after again finding space in the wide areas, bursting past a Wanneroo defender and converting a low shot to the near post to make it 4-0.
Castrilli was very pleased with Wantee’s game.
“Benny has been a little bit hot and cold for us this season,” he said.
“But when Benny is on song there is no one better. This was probably his best game all year.
“We’ll need him to step up again next week.”
Wanneroo City coach Tin Kantor said his team has still had a good year.
“I was disappointed,” he said.
“We tried something different but we were beaten by the better side.
“No one expected us to finish anywhere near the top four so we’ve still had a great season.
Morley’s attention now turns to Gosnells City who advanced to the Play-Off Final having defeated Swan United in their Play-Off match.
The first leg will be held at Walter Padbury Reserve on Saturday, September 30 with the second leg taking place at Wotton Reserve on Thursday, October 5.
