Football West News

Football West’s latest round of funding for the WA football community will see up to $500 made available for individuals looking to further develop their skills within the game.

The Football West Empowering People Scholarship Fund can be used towards the cost of coaching courses, referee courses and workshops, as well as training for volunteers working in the administration of clubs and associations.

The Scholarship Fund comes on the back of Football West’s Building Stronger Clubs Program, which saw clubs and associations able to claim $1,500 to put towards their projects.

Football West CEO James Curtis said: “The Football West Empowering People Scholarship Fund will assist people who want to add to their skill-set within the game.

“We are determined to support our volunteers, coaches and referees and, as we saw with the Building Stronger Clubs Program, we are confident the football community will respond positively.

“We have worked closely with the football community during Covid and we will continue to do so as we prepare for 2021.”

The Football West Empowering People Scholarship Fund will see special consideration given to individuals whose circumstances have prevented them from being able to access Football West or other courses previously.

Each individual can apply for up to $500. Applications will close at 5pm on Monday 26 October 2020. Funding must be utilised by 31 March 2021 and acquitted in line with the application.

Applicants will be notified by 30 October 2020 if they have been successful and provided with further details.
