Balcatta bag screening prize
Football West News
Jim Tombides, the father of the late Dylan Tombides, presented Balcatta FC with a bag of match balls for getting the most players to undertake free screening for testicular cancer.
DT38 Australia put up the prize this year as part of its Awareness Down Under campaign. The charity is named in honour of late West Australian footballer Dylan, who died of testicular cancer in 2014 aged just 20.
Every year Ultrasound Services offers free scans from ages 15-45 and Football West Competitions Manager Trent Barron said the plan was to get even more along next year.
“Congratultaions to Balcatta, they led the way in getting their players down to the screening,” Barron said.
“In 2019 Football West also had a DT38 Round and this year we are planning more activations to promote this fantastic charity.”
