Borden, Rockingham get behind Walking Football

Football West News

Football West Great Southern Development Oficer Sarthak Mishra delivered a successful Walking Football pilot session in Borden.

“Borden has a small community of less than 100 people but the turnout was great,” he said.

“Even though it the players were cross-generational, the focus was on the over 45s.  The community appreciates the health benefits of Walking Football and we are looking into opportunities to set up an ongoing program.

“In next few months, we will offer Walking Football ‘come and try’ days in Albany, followed by a one-day competition.”

The Walking Football project in Boden was delivered in conjunction with the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
