Bushfire Charity Match: Amateur clash added to bill

Football West News

Supporters heading to this Saturday night’s Bushfire Charity Match at Dorrien Gardens will now get the chance to enjoy two games.

The main feature is the NPL All Stars XI taking on the State League All Stars XI at 7pm.

Before that is a game between the Gold Fields State Amateur Team against a Belt Up Amateur Select Team, which kicks off at 5pm.

As well as the two matches, the Football West Development team will be running a MiniRoos Kick-Off Program and some small-sided games on the all-weather pitches at Dorrien Gardens between 4.30-7pm.

There will also be a number of great prizes up for grabs through a raffle.

Perth Glory have kindly put up signed shirts and balls, plus match tickets, for the raffle, while there has also been an incredible gesture from local fan Harley Moore who has donated a Socceroos 2010 World Cup shirt signed by the all of the members of Pim Verbeek’s squad who headed to South Africa. The Socceroos shirt comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Football West is working closely with other Member Federations and Football Federation Australia on a number of initiatives to raise funds and support the community through these difficult times.

Football West will donate money from the event to Rural Aid as part of the Football For Fire-Affected Farmers, Their Families And Communities initiative.

Football West would like to thank the players, clubs, presidents, match officials and standing committee members who have got behind the initiative.

The squads for the games will be confirmed later this week.

Admission for the match will be by donation.
