Club Development Workshop to explain new laws

Football West News

Football West clubs are urged to attend an upcoming workshop to learn about changes to the Laws of the Game.

The 2020 Hyundai Club Development Workshop – Laws of the Game Changes will be held at Dorrien Gardens on Wednesday, 4 March between 6.30-7.45pm.

Items to be discussed will include the complete rewriting of the handball law and the introduction of temporary dismissals (sin bins) for dissent into all Football West Junior competitions.

Football West Head of Referees Eddie Lennie said: “As part of our ongoing commitment to support the clubs, it is essential to ensure that players and coaches are aware of the major changes to the Laws of the Game being introduced for the 2020 season.”

Football West match officials were given the information at a Referee Seminar at ECU Mt Lawley last month.

Football West Head of Members Services Alex Novatsis said: “I look forward to seeing representatives from all clubs in attendance.

“We have worked closely with the Referees Department over the off-season period on the introduction of temporary dismissals into all our Junior competitions,” he said.

“Therefore, this workshop is especially important for players and coaches in these competitions.”
