Football West News

A proposed Women’s NPL for WA was one of the subjects discussed at Football West’s open forum on the Female Football Structure.

There was a strong turnout of club presidents and administrators, coaches, players and parents, with  Women’s Premier and State League clubs strongly represented.

The main discussion points were:

  • Proposed structure of the WNPL and State League and the requirements for teams for each

  • The application process for the WNPL, it’s timeline and who would be eligible to apply

  • Bringing in a player roster and player points system in future years, player movements and transfer windows

  • Facility requirements and the increase in requirements over the next couple of years

  • Governance and finance requirements to meet the WNPL. Potential increased costs across administration, engagement of licenced coaches, referees etc
