Leticia McKenna launches the 2019 Kicking Off Healthy Clubs program

Leticia’s healthy lead good for clubs

Football West News

Football West is again offering clubs the opportunity to win $750 of equipment simply by going healthy – and one of the brightest young talents in WA is fronting the initiative.

Hyundai NTC and Cockburn City product Leticia McKenna was one of the stars of Perth Glory Women’s run to the Westfield W-League Grand Final earlier this year.

Now the striker is encouraging youngsters from around the state to follow her lead and take the healthy route.

Leticia, who only turns 17 next Wednesday, is the ambassador for the 2019 Smarter than Smoking Kicking Off Healthy Clubs initiative.

This encourages clubs to become healthier and put themselves in with a chance of claiming $750 of sports equipment.

“The Smarter than Smoking Kicking Off Healthy Clubs program is a great way for clubs to offer a healthier option,” said Leticia, who represented Football West at the NTC Challenge in Canberra last week.

“It is great for young people to be active and healthy.

“My tips for young sports people keen to know more about being healthy are: drink plenty of water; eat healthily and cut down on the chips and fizzy drinks; and get plenty of rest.”
