Football West Elections – your chance to get involved

Football West News

Are you ready to make a difference to football in WA? Would you enjoy shaping how football is played in WA? Are you passionate about the issues affecting football and want to fix those issues from within?

If this sounds like you, then you may be who we’re looking for to join Football West as a Zone Representative or to be part of the next group of delegates on our high performing Standing Committees.

We have developed a Strategic Plan that maps out the direction of football in WA to 2022. The Football West elections are now on and we are seeking highly capable people who are aligned to our values of mutual respect, fair play and excellence to help manage how football is administered in WA and assist us with key priorities.

We are seeking a diverse group to represent community views, such as players, coaches, parents, administrators and supporters from all walks of life. Everyone in our sport has a voice and we want as many as possible to be heard.

In total we are looking to fill 74 positions, right across the State:

·         8 Metropolitan Zone Representative positions (2 each in Metro North, Metro South, Metro East and Metro Central)

·         6 Regional Zone Representative positions (1 each in Peel, South West, Great Southern, Wheatbelt/Goldfields, Midwest/Gascoyne, Kimberley/Pilbara)

·         10 standing committee positions on each of 6 standing committees for State League, Amateur/Social/Masters, Women, Juniors, Referees and Coaches

Our current Zone Representatives and Standing Committee Delegates finish their terms on 30 June 2019.

So Football West is now calling for nominations for new Zone Representatives and Standing Committee Delegates for the period of 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2021.

If you’re interested in joining the Coaches or Referees Standing Committees, talk to your colleagues and perhaps also persuade a few of them to nominate.

If you’re interested in any of the other positions, talk to your local club about being nominated.

Clubs and Associations are also encouraged to discuss the potential nomination of Zone Representatives and Standing Committee Delegates among their members.

Nomination forms and other information are located on the Football West website at this address: https://footballwest.com.au/standing_committees_zone_reps/

If you’re 18 or over, why not get involved in shaping the future of WA football.
