Football West’s Official Regional Partner Gold Fields is helping players, coaches and volunteers clean up by donating $2,000 worth of hand sanitiser.
The gesture came from the team at Gold Fields’ St Ives gold mine, which is around 100km south of Kalgoorlie.
The 60 litres of alcohol-based hand sanitiser given to Regional Development Oficer Josh Chiat will be used in Football West programs and offered to local clubs to help meet Covid-19 safety requirements during the Goldfields season, which kicks off this weekend.
Gold Fields operates four mines across the Goldfields region and Unit Manager: Stakeholder Relations Eddie Sheppard said: “Gold Fields is delighted to support the reopening of the football season and working with Football West to ensure the wellbeing of the players in our community.”
Football West Community Participation Lead Sarah Du Plessis aid: “This is a fantastic gesture from Gold Fields and one I’m sure the football community in the Goldfields will appreciate.
“We have a great relationship with Gold Fields, both as our Official Regional partner and as the name sponsor of our State teams, and we are grateful for this kind donation.”
