Kingsley SC took another step towards a league and cup double with a 4-1 win over Leeming Strikers in the Belt Up Amateur Cup semi final last night.
These two teams met in last year’s cup final which Kingsley won 2-1 and it was a case of same again for Steve Dimitrovich’s side at Gerry Archer Sporting Complex.
Sean Johnson, who scored both of Kingsley’s goals in the 2018 final, put his side one up on seven minutes. And although Ben Greaves levelled soon after, the home side were on terms for just two minutes as Aaron Lickiss restored the visitors’ lead.
The tie was in the balance until 20 minutes from the end when Ryan Brown netted Kingsley’s third and Bailey Salmon completed the scoring on 84 minutes.
Kingsley, who hold a six-point lead at the top of the Belt Up Amateur Premier Division, will face Warnbro Strikers or Carramar in the final on September 29 at a venue to be confirmed.
Warnbro, from Division One, will host second division outfit Carramar in the other semi final on Wednesday, August 28.
