Football Federation Australia Technical Director Rob Sherman held a presentation at Perth SC’s Dorrien Gardens on Monday night.
Rob visited Football West as part of a tour to all Member Federations to get an update of the main technical aspects in each state.
The practical session on Monday targeted Hyundai SAP (Skills Acquisition Program) age groups and was addressing specific aspects of the Perception-Decision-Execution (PDE) process in training.

This was followed by a power-point presentation which continued the main idea of the practical session and then expanded on updates to be considered in the near future regarding clubs and academies structure. The evening finished with a Q&A.
There were 65 people in attendance, including Club Presidents, Club Technical Directors, plus junior and senior coaches.
Rob is also visiting the Perth Glory Academy and John Curtin College of Arts during his visit to WA.
Football West Technical Director Cris Ola said: “It was a very useful education evening for all in attendance.
“The main outcome of the presentation was the specific coaching angle presented by Rob, highlighting the PDE process as well as our aim as coaches to influence player decision making, behaviour and attitude, according to the new trends on the game.
“The powerpoint demonstration continued on the same idea in an interactive approach, using video clips from the Matildas’ recent World Cup campaign in France.”
