Perth Soccer Club produced a comprehensive display to win the NPL WA Under 18’s Top Four Cup Final at Perth Plasterboard Centre Stadium on Saturday.
First-half goals from Alex McLean and JoJo Parise, followed by a brace from man of the match Raul Pereira and another from substitute Matt Di Virgilio sealed the 5-0 win for Tony Di Toro’s side over Stirling Lions.
Both these sides finished level on points at the end of the regular season and It was an even start to the game with both sides going close.
First Jordan Nikolajevic’s shot on the run was straight at Lions’ keeper Damian Damjanoski. Moments later Stirling’s striker Ben Rutter burst into the penalty area but Liam Anderson got back with a superb last-ditch tackle.
But on 22 minutes it was Perth who hit the front and from that moment they never looked back. Shaun Mukwevho made space down the left and whipped in a perfect cross for McClean, whose bullet-like header flew into the net giving Damjanoski no chance.
The Azzurri doubled their lead 10 minutes later. A great through ball from Pereira sent Parise clear down the right channel and his pace took him clear of his marker before cutting inside the box and finishing clinically.
Stirling pressed late in the half as they looked for a goal to get back into the game. The best chance fell to Dimitrij Blazeski, whose long-range shot flew over the top.

It was more of the same after the break. The Lions struggled to break down a tight defence well marshalled by Anderson and Lachlan Bryd, and it wasn’t a surprise when Perth added a third on 57 minutes. A cross from the left picked out Pereira, whose looping header gave the keeper no chance.
Perth pressed looking for more and they deservedly added a fourth on 78 minutes. Pereira played Di Virgilio down the left and he cut inside his marker before finding the bottom corner of the net.
Pereira capped off a great game by adding a fifth late in the game. A mazy run from Di Virgilio down the left took him to the byline, he cut the ball back to Pereira who made no mistake for his second to seal the win.
