Football West Development Officer and Women’s State Under 21 Assistant Coach Annie Leyland said: “As a part of the female talented player pathway Football West are striving to provide more opportunities for our female footballers.

“The Gold Fields State U21 Team Program has enabled some of the best young female talent the opportunity to train and play in a challenging and rewarding environment.

“I look forward to seeing the team compete in Indonesia.”

As well as playing in the tournament the WA women will attend two local schools and visit the Bali Sport Foundation’s Blind Football Program.

Leyland added: “Going forward, Football West will be hosting an open Women’s State Team trial in September where identified players will be invited to attend for selection.

“The Gold Fields Women’s State Team will be playing in the annual Challenge Cup match against the Perth Glory W-League women in early October.”
