Welcome to Perth!
Your special friendship bracelets have been hand-made by junior girls from across Perth’s grassroots football clubs, including those from your training sites. It has been very exciting for these girls to get creative while working together on your bracelets.
Since the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, women’s football has grown 30% in Western Australia. We now have 2,500 new women and girls playing in the 2024 season.
Role-modelling is so important to keep junior players inspired and in our game. Across the different bracelet-making sessions at various junior clubs, we witnessed many special moments and teenage girls interacting with much younger players. These connections are priceless within club environments. Some clubs also invited players from other clubs in their neighbourhood to make your bracelets. It was a great example of the game working together!
We thank you for visiting Perth and for providing inspiration for the local girls in football. All the best on your football journeys and we hope to see you here again.
