It was a case of after the Lord Mayor’s show for North Perth United as the new Belt Up Amateur Premier Division champions finished their season with a 2-1 loss at lowly Wembley Downs.
Karl Gorman and Rory Kiely put Wembley two up in the first half. United got back in contention through Juraj Galba’s own goal but Wembley Downs were able to end a disappointing campaign on a high note.
Runners-up Kwinana United went out with a 3-0 victory over Hamersley Rovers as Sam French, Lee Bates and Sean Troup got on the scoresheet.
Lawrence Lewis looked to have given UWA Nedlands victory at South West Phoenix with his second goal two minutes from time, only for Jayden Prosser to earn the hosts a 2-2 draw 60 seconds later.
Maddington White City were forced to settle for fourth spot after they let slip a 2-1 lead at Quinns to lose 3-2, Guy Armstrong’s double delivering the win.
Joondalup United’s Adam Buckley took out the Golden Boot as the division’s leading scorer after his goal was enough for a 1-0 win at Leeming Strikers.
At the bottom of the table, Jaguar won 3-2 at Queens Park.
