Football West 2020 Belt Up ball distribution kicks off
Local MLAs are again showing their support for the Football West and the Insurance Commission of Western Australia Belt Up road safety campaign.
Across the state 2,000 footballs branded with the Belt Up message will be distributed to clubs.
Balcatta MLA David Michael said: “It’s really important everyone belts up when they get into a car because seatbelts save lives.”
Mr Michael and Forrestfield MLA Stephen Price are just two of the politicians who have presented footballs at their local clubs.
This is the third year of the Belt Up campaign and Insurance Commission of Western Australia Commission Secretary Kane Blackman said: “The Insurance Commission is pleased to be partnering with Football West again in 2020 to promote the important Belt Up safety message.
“We hope all players and their loved ones play safely on the pitch and Belt Up when they get in their cars.
“Good luck to all teams for the 2020 season.”
    Football West CEO James Curtis said the Belt Up “wear a seatbelt” message continued to carry weight in both metro and regional areas.
He said: “We are pleased to that we can share this important road safety message. The Belt Up brand is very recognisable in the WA football community thanks to our partnership with the Insurance Commission and it is great to be able to make a difference.”
