Football West Belt Up Round

Football West Belt Up Round

Football West will again host Belt Up Round across all of our senior competitions on the weekend of September 26 and 27.

Matches across the State, including the men’s and women’s National Premier Leagues WA, State, Amateur, Metropolitan and Regional leagues will come under the Belt Up banner.

This is the third year Football West has held a Belt Up Round to share the message for drivers and passengers to wear seatbelts as part of our partnership with the Insurance Commission of Western Australia.

The Commission has once more provided Football West’s Amateur and Regional clubs with 2,000 Belt Up branded footballs.

Commission Secretary Kane Blackman said: “The Insurance Commission is proud to promote the Belt Up message with Football West through the annual Belt Up Round. We want everyone attending these games, as players or supporters, to wear a seatbelt every time they are in a car.

“Not wearing a seatbelt can significantly increase the severity of injuries sustained in a car crash. We’d much rather see players and supporters enjoying time at these games than injured in a car crash.”

Football West CEO James Curtis said: “Belt Up Round is a big weekend for Football West as we remind the football community of the importance  of wearing a seatbelt.

“Football West values greatly its partnership with the Commission as we work together to drive home the road safety message. We are delighted to be able to bring in our clubs to be part of the initiative.”
