Lucas leads way for North Perth

Lucas Munoz-Despierre led the way with two goals as league leaders North Perth United won 4-1 at Joondalup United.

Lewis Robinson and an own goal from Kitson Catalfamo blew the score out, with United’s goal coming via Andreas Bouzinekis.

Two points behind are Maddington White City, who won 1-0 at Kwinana United through David Sarria’s first-half strike.

Hamersley Rovers are third on goal difference following a highly entertaining 5-4 win over UWA Nedlands.

The visitors will view this as one that got away, having led 4-2 on the back of Walter Torres’ hat-trick. But Rovers stormed back to take the points, Declan Hudson hitting the winner nine minutes from the end with his second of the game. Cosimo Figliomeni also scored two for Rovers, who are at North Perth this Sunday.

After seven straight losses, bottom of the table Queens Park celebrated their first three points with Marco Taglioretti netting a stoppage-time winner against Quinns at Coker Park.

Justine Kaupa scored two for Queens Park, while Ryan McCready’s hat-trick for Quinns in the 4-3 loss was in vain.

Tom Grant hit a late clincher for Leeming Strikers as they overcame Jaguar FC 3-2, while a double from Lee Stewart helped South West Phoenix win 3-1 at Wembley Downs.
