South West Review: Send in your feedback
In July 2020 Football West commissioned independent consultant Dr Ingrid O’Brien to provide a report summarising key issues in relation to the governance and delivery of football in the South West region.
The review assesses whether Football Federation South West and the current governance structure represent an effective allocation of resources and, if not, to recommend a new structure which does make this allocation effective.
It also looks at whether the current local association, league and club structure is the most appropriate to support all football in the region.
Dr O’Brien conducted a number of workshops with key stakeholders across associations, State Government, Local Government Authority’s and other identified persons of interest.
The review ties in with Football Federation Australia’s recently released XI Principles for the Future of Australian Football.
The XI Principles represent the strategic agenda for Australian football in this upcoming operating cycle and will replace the Whole of Football Plan published in May 2015.
Principle VII reads: Transition towards a modern, fit-for-purpose governance framework for football in Australia in line with global standards and best-practice sports governance in Australia.
Dr Ingrid O’Brien’s final report can be read HERE and Football West is seeking feedback on the proposed recommendations contained within.
Football West kindly asks that all associations, clubs and government feedback is provided in a written submission by 5pm AWST, Wednesday 18 November 2020.
Individuals are encouraged to use the form at the link below to submit their feedback. Please note all feedback will remain confidential.
