Charity fundraisers help bushfire-hit communities

Football West has raised over $5,000 in response to the devastating bushfires which hit large parts of the country over the summer.

Money was raised through a number of initiatives, including the Bushfire Charity Match at Dorrien Gardens in January.

Funds from the match between the NPL All Stars XI and State League All Stars XI will go to Rural Aid Australia.

Football West CEO James Curtis praised the efforts of the WA football community.

“There was terrific support from football people in Perth and the regions and Football West would like to thank everyone who contributed,” he said.

The All Stars Charity match was preceded by a game between the Gold Fields State Amateur Team and a Belt Up Amateur Select XI.
