NAIDOC Week ball design competition

Football West and the Insurance Commission of Western Australia have teamed up to launch an exciting competition as part of the 2020 NAIDOC Week celebrations.

We are inviting members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to create a ball design.

The winning design will then be printed onto footballs which will be distributed to clubs across the state.

The competition is one part of Football West’s activations for NAIDOC Week, which will be celebrated between July 5-12 this year.

The theme for NAIDOC Week for 2020 is Always Was. Always Will Be, which recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for the continent now called Australia for over 65,000 years.

The Insurance Commission’s aim is to raise awareness across all communities of the importance of wearing a seat belt.

Its Belt Up road safety campaign has a key focus on regional WA, which is overrepresented in motor injury insurance claims, where not wearing a seat belt can be a contributory factor.

Competition closing date: 12pm, Friday, 7 February, 2020.
