BELT UP AMATEUR PREMIER DIVISION RESULTS, FIXTURES AND TABLE
The form team of the division are Wembley Downs, who are four wins from four and have a game in hand on their rivals. The Night Series winners followed up a 4-0 midweek victory over Kingsley with a 5-2 win at Peel United on Sunday to maintain their 100% start. Wembley’s goals came from Halil Russo, Sam Mattock, Callum McLeod, Zac Archer and a Jack Eldred own goal, while Peel, who led on two occasions, registered through Mitchell Kelman and Sergej Gluhovic.
Third-place Emerald also won 5-2, against North Perth United. Shane Flynn and Tim Broderick put Emerald 2-0 up early on, before Mark Ruddy pulled a goal back for United. Broderick added his second close to half-time, only for Connor Engelbrecht to again cut the deficit to a single goal. North Perth had been reduced to 10 men in the first half and Emerald eventually made the extra player count as Shane Young and Ronan Flaherty made the game safe.
Maccabi, the fourth team in the bunch at the top, required a stoppage-time penalty to get past Jaguar 2-1. Mathew Sesay put the visitors ahead on 73 minutes, with Aamon Zothner quickly levelling for Maccabi. Then a 95th-minute penalty from Dion Berman secured the three points for the hosts.
Elsewhere, South Perth United proved too strong for bottom club Joondalup United. Aron Tesfaldte, Ayela Santa, Wellington Muvunduke and Joseph Lim got South Perth’s goals, while Luke Crawford was Joondalup’s sole scorer.
Finally, Morley Windmills lost pace with the leaders after going down 1-0 at home to North Beach. Ben Reynolds got the only goal in the first half.
