Football West held the 2023 NPLWA season launch at Sorrento Football Club’s Percy Doyle Reserve last night.
Club presidents, coaches, captains and other representatives of the 20 NPLWA – Men’s and NPLWA – Women’s teams were invited to attend, along with Company Members, Life Members and commercial partners.
WA Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman was the main speaker of the evening, while Football West Chairman Sherif Andrawes was the other speaker.
There were also question-and-answer sessions with Faye Chambers (Fremantle City) and Steven McGarry (Sorrento), and Jaime Duncanson (Perth SC), Shane Cassidy (Olympic Kingsway) and referee Shane Skinner, the joint 2022 Golden Whistle award winner.
There was a video from Hyundai Australia Regional General Manager Michael Beros, who gave an update on the Hyundai Community Football Raffle which sees all clubs retain 100% of money raised through ticket sales, while Richard Kreider received his Life Member certificate.
Football West would like to thank Mr Templeman for his attendance and entertaining speech, everybody who came along to support the season launch, and host club Sorrento for their fantastic hospitality.
The 2023 NPLWA – Men’s season begins this Friday with Bayswater City hosting Sorrento at 7pm. The remainder of the matches are on Saturday. The 2023 NPLWA – Women’s season begins a week later, following this Sunday’s Night Series final between Perth RedStar and Perth SC at E&D Litis Stadium.
