The men’s decider might have the Green Machine, but it’s in the Hyundai Women’s State Cup final where you’ll find the winning machine.
Perth RedStar’s dominance of the WA women’s competition in the past three seasons has been almost absolute. Since the start of the 2022 campaign, Carlos Vega Mena’s team have won three successive NPL titles, three Top Four Cups, two Night Series and a State Cup.
Tomorrow, they look to complete the third leg of a quadruple when they meet Perth SC at the Sam Kerr Football Centre.
“We’re very proud to have won the league for the third time, it’s a massive achievement,” captain Sarah Carroll said.
“We’re a club that’s got a history of success and we’re not done yet … this is another opportunity this weekend to pick up the cup. We missed out on that last year, so we’d like to get it.”
The three league matches between the sides this season finished with two wins for RedStar and one for Perth SC.
“We love playing against Perth. They push us to be at our best, it’s always a battle – we’re looking forward to battling it out against them again this weekend,” Carroll said.
“We just want to be the best we can be, and if winning and success comes with that then that’s great.”

The league season was another case of so near for the Azzurri, who were runners-up for a third straight year. Midfielder Tijan McKenna says this is their chance to get one over their rivals.
“We started from zero and for us to get this far, we are pretty proud of ourselves,” the Perth Glory A-League midfielder said.
“This weekend will be a good chance to show what we have against a top team.
“I think we can take from having beaten them once this year that we know it’s possible. If we put our heads together and focus on the game, then anything can happen.
Everyone’s fit and ready and booming to go.”
Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 4pm and is one of four cup finals on the day.
The first is the men’s U18s State Cup final between RedStar and Perth SC at 11am.
This is followed by the men’s Reserves State Cup final between UWA Nedlands and Perth SC at 1.30pm.
Following the Hyundai Women’s State Cup final is the Men’s State Cup final between between NPL champions Olympic Kingsway and Perth RedStar, who finished runners-up.
All four matches will be live-streamed free on the Streamer platform.
