2025 AGM: Frank Moretti newest Football West Life Member, two new Board Members appointed

Football West is pleased to announce a new Life Member and two new Board Members.

Frank Moretti was admitted as a Life Member at last night’s Annual General Meeting at the Sam Kerr Football Centre.

Frank has been involved in football since 1966, most notably as a referee, which he began in 1987.  

In a distinguished 14-year career as a match official, his highlights include being involved in NSL fixtures and WA State Team games against the likes of Red Star Belgrade.  

Since hanging up his boots, Frank has been a training, development, management and administration lead for referees in WA.  

He was a match commissioner at NSL and continues in this role in the A-League. 

Football West Chair Sherif Andrawes said: “Congratulations to Frank on his Life Membership. He is a very popular and widely respected figure in WA football who has given decades of service to refereeing.”

Meanwhile, Jade Concei and Greg Sleigh were elected as Directors at last night’s AGM. In addition, David Buckingham was re-elected to the Board for a second term.

Ms Cocei is a corporate and commercial lawyer who is Managing Counsel & Deputy Company Secretary at energy supplier Synergy. Her family connection to the local game goes back to the 1950s, when her grandfather played at Perth Azzurri (now Perth SC).

Mr Sleigh is VenuesLive General Manager, Commercial at Optus Stadium. He has a strong strategy, sporting and communications & marketing background. He is also Sunday U16-17 Women’s Coordinator at Murdoch University Melville FC.

They replace outgoing Board Members Will Golsby and Annette Tilbrook.

“Football West is delighted to welcome Jade and Greg to the Board. They are highly skilled professionals and will be great additions to Football West going forward,” Mr Andrawes said. 

“And well done to David Buckingham on his re-election. He first joined the Board in March 2021 and has contributed greatly over the past four years.

“I would also like to thank Will and Annette for their service to Football West. Will has done incredible work throughout his eight-year tenure, including as Deputy Chair, and he has been an outstanding asset to the organisation.

“Annette joined Football West just under three years ago, and has been a valued Board Member, especially with her experience in the Asian sphere.”
