It is the final of the Football West Kick It. World Cup this Saturday with Afghanistan taking on Iraq at Inglewood Stadium.
Afghanistan secured their spot with a convincing 4-0 victory against Zambia, while Iraq overcame Croatia on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
One of Afghanistan’s scorers on the weekend was Pieter Jacobsz. The Armadale striker, who won the 2024 NPLWA – Men’s Gold Medal and Golden Boot, is the leading scorer in the tournament with 13 goals - nine in the group stage and four in the finals.

That is five more than his nearest rival, Federico Achilli of Poland.
Saturday’s final at the home of Inglewood United promises to be a high-quality decider to an excellent competition.
The Afghanistan side includes Jacobsz’s Armadale teammate Luke Collins and Perth SC duo Gordon Perkins and Zayd Farah. Both Jacobsz and Farah were part of the Men’s WA State team side which faced Perth Glory in the Gold Fields Challenge Cup game in September.
Iraq are also strong and include Pat Loughrey, who enjoyed an excellent season in the NPL with Fremantle City, Sorrento FC’s State League-winning trio Hamza Hina, Keegan Chambers and Shay Natolotto, and Subiaco’s Charlie Breen, who scored in the semi-final against Croatia.
Saturday’s game kicks off at 3pm.
