Football West is pleased to announce that board director Amy Johnson has recently been elected deputy chairwoman, with Sherif Andrawes re-elected as chairman.
Mr Andrawes has been on the board since 2012 and became chairman in 2019.
Ms Johnson became a Football West director in 2018 and replaces Will Golsby as deputy chair. Mr Golsby continues as a Football West director.
“I would like to congratulate Amy on her deserved election as deputy chair, she will be a fantastic asset for Football West in her new role and I look forward to working even more closely with her,” Mr Andrawes said.
“These are exciting times for our game in WA with many opportunities and Amy displays great passion for football with a well-rounded view of the good the sport can do for the community.”

Mr Andrawes paid tribute to Mr Golsby’s contribution during his time as deputy chair.
“Will has been outstanding as deputy, especially in relation to the development of the State Football Centre, and a great source of support in many other key areas.”
Ms Johnson said: “Sherif and I, we work very well together. We’re from very different backgrounds and I like that the board is made up of different people - it’s good to see diversity is valued on the board.”
Ms Johnson is the Director, Planning and Continuous Improvement with the Department of Communities. She has 20 years of extensive senior level experience in marketing transformation and stakeholder management across Australia and Asia.
Previously, she worked in the UK, Singapore, and Melbourne, before returning to Western Australia in 2018.

“Since coming back from Melbourne and Singapore, I have to get involved in giving back to the community,” she said. “This is the second stage of my life and I want to use my skills here for good.
“The State Football Centre and Asia are two particular areas where I use my banking and Asia knowledge and skills for good.
“I am keen on alignment with the education sector and to get the Football West brand seen across Asia and into the education market.
“There are a huge number of people from Asia who come here for university with a football background who we can engage with, especially with the State Football Centre.”

Ms Johnson, a member of Football West’s Finance and Audit Committee, added: “I’m big on collaboration and what is in the best interest of the game - sport should be accessible to everybody and we should work to keep the costs down for people to play.”
Football West’s other directors are Liz Tylich, Richard Marshall, David Buckingham, Ivy Chen, Annette Tilbrook and Chris Harold.
