Ange attack thrills fans but West Ham take the win

A crowd of over 46,000 turned out at Optus Stadium last night to witness Ange Postecoglou's first game in charge of Tottenham Hotspur.

And while the result didn't go the way of the former Socceroos coach, there was no shortage of excitement which might give an indication to the football Spurs fans will get to enjoy once the Premier League season is under way.

And Postecoglou was back out early and on form this morning, as he spoke to over 500 guests in the Crown Perth Grand Ballroom in an On the Couch breakfast conducted by The West Australian, with part proceeds going to Telethon7 Perth.

Something Postecoglou will no doubt be working on during his side's Asia-Pacific tour is his team's defence, which was exposed as Danny Ings and Divin Mubama put West Ham 2-0 up inside 23 minutes.

Spurs, who had 30 shots during the game, finally pulled one back through Giovani Lo Celso on 68 minutes, and three minutes later they were level thanks to Destiny Udogie.

But West Ham, who beat Perth Glory 6-2 at the same venue on Saturday, had the final word with Gianluca Scamacca grabbing the clincher in an entertaining 3-2 win.
