Battle to reach NPLM Night Series semis

It’s the last round of group matches in the NPLWA – Men’s Night Series with eight teams still in with a shot of joining Group A leaders Olympic Kingsway in next weekend's semi-finals.
The action begins at Macedonia Park tonight, starting with the clash between Fremantle City and Bayswater City.
While Freo are unable to go through, last year’s beaten Night Series finalists Baysie need a win to have a chance of advancing as Group A runners-up. The game is set to see new Bayswater recruits Oli La Galia and Paddy Loughrey face their former team.
This is followed by the tie between the leading pair in Group B as hosts Stirling Macedonia face Perth RedStar. Stirling are two points clear at the top and a draw will be enough to take them through. Last year’s winners RedStar will progress with a win while a point will leave Callum Salmon’s side waiting on other results.
The remaining Round Five fixtures are on Sunday.

In Group A, it’s top-versus-bottom as Olympic face Balcatta at Percy Doyle Reserve while Armadale meet Perth Glory at Alfred Skeet Reserve.
Olympic will secure top spot should they avoid defeat against a Balcatta side seeking a first win. Meanwhile, it is all to play for between Armadale and Glory. Armadale know victory will put them through regardless of other results, and even a draw will be enough unless Bayswater beat Freo by four goals. Glory simply have to win or they are out.
In Group B, Floreat take on Perth SC at Alfred Skeet with Sorrento FC hosting Western Knights at Percy Doyle.
Only Floreat are currently out of the running in the group, although Perth could be too by kick-off time. As well as having to win their own game, the Azzurri need RedStar to fail to beat Stirling tonight and for Sunday’s game between Sorrento and Knights to finish all square.
Things are much simpler for Sorrento and Knights, with the winners guaranteed a semi-final berth.
