National Volunteer Week begins on Monday and Football West wants to hear about those in the WA football community who go above and beyond for our sport.
We are asking clubs and associations to nominate individuals who make a real contribution in the WA football community.
All nominated volunteers will be acknowledged as part of our new Best of the West initiative, where we shine a light on the outstanding people in the football community and highlight positive projects undertaken by our clubs and associations.

And we have teamed up with Computing Australia Group, Football West’s preferred technology partner, to offer a gift card prize valued at $1,000 to the club who nominates the outstanding volunteer for recognition. That volunteer will receive a Visa Debit gift card to the value of $250.
Football West Chief Football Officer Jamie Harnwell said: “Grassroots sport cannot take place without volunteers and football is no different.
“We want to say thank you to the people who dedicate their time rain, hail or shine and make a vital contribution to football. Whether it’s the coaches, team managers, canteen staff, committee members, the parents who put up the nets and take them down each week … all play their part in ensuring we have a game. We want our clubs and associations to nominate their unsung heroes and let us share their work to the wider community.
“We also want to thank Computing Australia Group for supporting this initiative.”
To get the ball rolling, Football West this week visited Tuart Hill JSC where we spoke with two of their key volunteers, club president Andrea Belfiore and treasurer Sonia Faranda.
As well as volunteers, Football West wants to share the upcoming projects and events which our clubs and associations are undertaking.
Let us know why your club’s project is worthy of Best of the West recognition HERE
